In Burdett v Aviva Employment Services Ltd an employment tribunal decided that Burdett,who suffers from a paranoid schizophrenic illness,was fairly dismissed for gross misconduct because he had admitted to sexually assaulting female colleagues after discontinuing his medication without medical advice.

Harkanwarjit Dhanju, a pharmacist who worked for a Primary Care Trust has been prosecuted by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under S.55 of the Data Protection Act, after unlawfully accessing the medical records of family members, work colleagues and local health professionals.
