Actions for employers to improve family friendly policies and lessen the gender pay gap

The Government Equalities Office has published two infographic posters which set out the evidence-based high level actions employers can take to improve their family friendly policies to help to close the gender pay gap and to increase gender equality in the workplace, together with an action note which sets out in detail how employers can make their family friendly policies better to achieve equal pay and gender equality. One of the barriers women face is the tendency to spend more time out of the labour market, so family friendly policies enable more equal sharing of work and childcare between men and women so that both can fulfil their potential at work.
