The EHRC have published a report about unconscious bias training which makes recommendations for effective training to create more inclusive workplaces. The report highlights that each individual holds different views of the world because we are all the product of a complex series of experiences – our family and friends, our home town, our newspaper of choice, or even our favourite films and television programmes. This means that a person’s views can affect how they make decisions at work in ways that they do not recognise, i.e. unconscious biases –  views and opinions they are unaware of. Unconscious bias training aims to increase awareness of the issue, reduce this bias and reduce discriminatory behaviour and attitudes.
