31% increase in single ET claims during July to September 2018

The Ministry of Justice has published the latest report and detailed statistics on tribunal cases received, disposed of or outstanding for July to September 2018. The key figures for this period are: 9,020 single claims were received, an increase of 31% compared to the same period in 2017; 14,680 multiple claims were received, a decrease of 37%; the top three jurisdictional complaints were: (1) unfair dismissal = 6,079; (2) unauthorised deductions = 4,007; (3) breach of contract = 3,121; and, the top discrimination complaint was disability = 1,668, followed by equal pay = 1,315, and then sex discrimination = 959.
