Following publication of Jason Holt’s review, ‘Making apprenticeships more accessible for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)’, the BIS have outlined new government measures to aid SMEs in recruiting apprentices. These include using SME advisory groups to improve communication about apprenticeship schemes; providing better information for businesses on obtaining the correct type of training for their apprentices; setting new standards for training providers to improve their performance, and improving the Apprenticeship Grant for Employers.
