A leading international law firm located in the heart of The City of London are looking to recruit an experienced HR professional who ideally has experience of working within in LLP environment, however this is not essential.

The role, reporting into the Senior HR Manager the successful candidate will have responsibilities for half the Business Services and Legal Secretarial client group population (approx. 170).

Key responsibilities include:

Advisory

  • Develop and sustain strong business relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted advisor
  • Provide high quality, proactive advice and guidance to Partners, Business Services Directors and Managers on disciplinary, grievance, counselling, health and wellbeing, absence, flexible working requests and other employee relations issues which supports the effective management and development of people
  • Provide regular strategic management information to departments
  • Ensure the structure of the Business Services Departments including secretaries is appropriate and meets the firm’s business needs including, where necessary, advice and support on re-organisations, restructurings, redundancies and internal transfers
  • Responsible for the implementation and smooth running of the Year-end and Mid-year review processes in relevant departments
  • Manage the life cycle of employees, including running induction for new employees and conducting exit interviews
  • Work with L&D colleagues to ensure Business Services Directors and Managers have the right skills, experience and knowledge to manage people effectively and to help and support them when gaps are identified. Facilitate and deliver L&D programmes as and when required e.g. performance review training
  • Work with Reward and Benefits on annual salary reviews and headcount planning
  • Develop HR policies and procedures
  • Share best practice from relevant departments with the wider team and work towards a consistent approach wherever possible
  • Support Partners (for secretaries) and Business Services Directors in managing performance
  • Develop strong relationships with relevant departments, the broader HR team, the In-House Employment Lawyer and the wider firm

Management

  • Management of the Business Services and Secretaries HR Adviser

General

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and developments, through a strong network of external contacts both within and outside the legal sector, and make recommendations for change within the firm as required
  • Embed diversity principles in all elements of the HR Advisory process
  • Work closely with the wider HR team, in particular other HR Managers, to ensure the team is aware of developments that will have a wider HR impact, and ensure that the HR Advisory function provides a seamless service to the business
  • Any other duties that fall within the parameters of this role
  • Work on ad-hoc projects in HR Advisory and Resourcing and the wider HR team
