Digital and Housing sectors lead recruitment drive in South West

New analysis from Venn Group, the contract recruitment specialist, reveals that, despite a marginal year-on-year reduction in vacancy levels (0.1%), the digital and housing sectors have seen significant demand for contract professionals.

Across the digital arena, Venn Group has noted exceptional demand for digital professionals in design and developmental roles to assist new start-ups in their initial growth period. This is in keeping with recent reports which revealed that almost 172,900 new start-ups have been created in the South West since 2010. Venn Group’s analysis also reveals that the region has seen heightened demand for housing specialists as a result of significant growth within the property market. As a result, professionals with extensive experience of surveying and processing administrative enquiries have been highly sought after.

Sundeep Bakshi, Venn Group’s Director of Operations in the region, commented on the findings: “Vacancy levels have remained largely stable in the South West over the past year, but this doesn’t really paint the full picture. A number of key sectors have reported extraordinary growth, in particular the housing and digital arenas. The latter has shown sustained expansion in recent years and the area is now home to a number of the UK’s most innovative and creative young technology firms so we expect demand to continue for the foreseeable future.”
