About Gemma Dale

Gemma Dale is an experienced HR Director. Gemma is a Fellow of the CIPD, and a regular speaker and writer on a variety of HR topics including employee engagement and social media.

Gemma is an award winning blogger over at www.hrgemblog.com as well as writing for a number of HR and recruitment websites. Gemma is the co-author of the ‘Putting Social Media to Work’ book series, and the e-book ‘Human Resources, A Practical Guide’, both co-written with Tim Scott. A qualified Personal Trainer, Gemma also writes a fitness blog and has published a book on weight loss.

Gemma has held a variety of HR roles including leading teams in employee relations, resourcing, service delivery, internal communications and business partnering. Many of her roles have involved transforming HR teams and developing effective HR solutions and policy. Gemma has an MA in Employment Law and Industrial Relations from Keele University and is also a mediator and coach. She now runs The Work Consultancy, focusing on bringing together people, work and technology.

Earlier this year the CIPD produced detailed guidance to help organisations and people professionals address the challenges of menopause in the workplace.
