In the 12 February 2015 News Update, we reported that the Criminal Justice and Courts Bill will create a new criminal offence of ‘Revenge Porn’ and the MoJ have published guidance to assist in understanding the new law which will impact on harassment and bullying policies. To add to this guidance, the Government have launched a helpline to support victims of ‘revenge porn’. The helpline, run by South West Grid for Learning Trust, will provide callers with information on legal help available and their right to have the images removed from websites. The helpline will also point individuals to additional support services, such as Women’s Aid, Stalking helpline or Relate if needed. Employers should consider adding details to their anti-harassment and bullying policies.
