Dorset pub fined for unfair dismissal of employee

The Anchor Inn, in High Street, Swanage, has been ordered to pay £13,700 to Mr R M in an employment tribunal held in Bristol.

Judge Paul Cadney ruled in favour of an unfair dismissal at the tribunal, awarding the claimant £6,304 for the dismissal.

This included £1,713 in basic pay and £4,591 in compensatory pay.

Meanwhile, Mr M’s wages were found to have been unlawfully deduced totalling £3,042 between December 18, 2022 and January 1, 2023.

The pub was also ordered to pay Mr M £1,521 in notice pay as well as £2,833 in unpaid holiday pay.

Documents state that the claimant was present but nobody at the pub was present at the hearing.
