More than half (58%) of UK candidates say that a negative experience makes them less likely to buy a company’s products or services. This is according to ManpowerGroup Solutions’ 2018 Candidate Preference Survey of more than 700 candidates in the UK. The report calls for equal energy and resources to be spent on the candidate experience as on the consumer experience.

Unite, the UK’s largest union, is calling for an urgent review of the fees, major accountancy firms can charge when a company falls into administration, after it was revealed today (16 August) that following Carillion’s collapse staff at accountancy giant PwC charged on average £356 a hour for their services.

More than 133,000 businesses are still waiting for an appeal of their business rates valuation from 2010 to be resolved, council leaders reveal. More than 1 million businesses have challenged their business rates bill since 2010. The Local Government Association said figures published this month show 133,060 appeals have still yet to be ruled on.
