HR Director

Our client, a highly successful commercial organisation in the manufacturing, sales and distribution sector, is looking for a proven and delivery-orientated Head of HR/Human Resources Director to join their team. Human Resources Director The role can be based anywhere in south of UK and will involve 2-3 days travel per week to site locations, and the remainder home-based. As a leader within an expanding market, the Human Resources Team drives to deliver robust, commercial, and innovative approaches to managing, developing and rewarding its people. They are currently seeking a Human Resources Director to join the team. Reporting to the Group Human Resources Director and MD, and managing a small team, you will play a key role in delivering a stimulating and wide-ranging generalist brief. Responsibilities: Work closely with the MD to ensure an excellent ‘base level’ generalist HR service is provided to the business, opening the door to focus on more strategic HR activity.

Develop a positive employee relations environment, in its broadest context, with effective communications and genuine business partnering. Create and enhance a performance culture through improving management capability, facilitating stretching goals and honest feedback, recognition of success and ensuring the right organisation structures are in place. Contribute to and deliver longer-term improvement projects in areas and embedding new acquisitions. The ideal candidate: You are likely to be a graduate and CIPD qualified.

Essential characteristics: First-class people skills Rounded HR expertise Strong commercial acumen Significant exposure to many of the generalist HR areas of focus. Strong interest in forward-thinking HR approaches and the delivery of service excellence. Preferred characteristics: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Experience of the challenges of embedding and ‘bringing on board’ new acquisitions would be valuable but not essential.
