At Lumos, we believe that Children belong in families not orphanages!
Across the globe, an estimated eight million children live in orphanages and other institutions. At least 80% are not orphans and have at least one living parent. Separated from families, they are deprived of the close, loving adult engagement a family provides; and are exposed to significant risk of abuse and neglect. These are some of the world’s most disadvantaged children.
At Lumos, an international NGO founded by J.K. Rowling and the UK 2015 Charity of the Year, we believe this is a solvable problem by supporting countries to reform child care and protection systems to keep families together in the community.
Lumos is expanding globally, come and join us to champion the rights of all children to grow up within a loving family.
We are now recruiting for a HR Director to lead on developing and implementing our global HR strategy. This is a truly global role, with the scope and remit to have a profound impact on how we deliver our mission.
At a strategic level, you will be a key member of our Executive Management Team with the responsibility for developing a dynamic HR function that provides real partnership working with senior managers. As we continue to grow in size and reach, you will be a key thought partner to our Chief Operating Officer on relevant topics supporting our international expansion.
Operationally, you will drive organisational change and improvement across a range of areas such as our performance management framework and conducting a global review of reward and benefits. A commitment to ensuring Lumos is at the forefront of innovation and best practice will underpin your approach.
This is a unique opportunity for a senior HR professional to build and develop a first class global HR function. It is essential that you have experience of leading effective operational delivery in an international context and have HR qualifications at degree and/or post graduate level including CIPD qualified. In addition, you will have the ability to influence and challenge at a senior level, with an approach that builds capacity rather than dependency.
