A Financial Services Portfolio management firm is looking for a Head of HR on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract working 3 or 4 days per week

Description

  • Management HR function, control of processes and documentation
  • Operational delivery across all locations (London, Dusseldorf, New York and Madrid)
  • Manage day to day HR tasks

Core Responsibilities:

Provide full HR function to all offices in London, New York, Dusseldorf and Madrid which includes managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and jointly authorise payroll through the local payroll service provider at each location (including monitoring delivery and content, quality of outputs)
  • Liaise with Finance function to ensure timely funding of all payroll and benefit commitments
  • Ensure all year-end payroll and payroll related tax obligations are met at each location

Co-ordinate any external service providers in the HR area at each location including:

  • Benefit providers (Healthcare, Life Insurance, Permanent Health Insurance, Pension, Benefit Administrators, etc)
  • Outsourced HR Service Providers
  • Payroll Providers
  • Legal Advisers

Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure market appraisals and procurement guidelines are met on the expiry of any benefit or 3rd party provider contract
  • Point of contact for managing board, line managers and employees on all HR-related issues
  • Implement HR actions (payrises, changes to T&Cs, etc), as well as ensuring compliance with legal, corporate and individual contract terms
  • Manage and execute headcount reductions and restructuring including all aspects of the redundancy lifecycle in line with employment law and internal policies
  • Manage any performance, grievances, disciplinaries and other employee relations issues in line with employment law and internal policies
  • Ensure all HR handbooks, policies, procedures and related documentation are up to date and in line with legislation
  • Oversee all aspects of the recruitment, on boarding and off boarding processes
  • Provide support for projects and their implementation, such projects to potentially include wind down of staff numbers, changes to existing non-contractual schemes
  • Ensure HR Administration and record keeping is in line with legal and internal requirements

Profile

  • A true HR Generalist where this role operates across all areas of HR hence experience at both an operational and advisory level is required
  • A hands-on practical approach, with the ability to operate in a self sufficient manner
  • Excellent communication and team skills and the ability to operate at all levels
  • Ideally CIPD qualified/possess sufficient relevant & practical HR experience in a Generalist role
  • UK based HR experience essential and a working knowledge of European and/or US employment law would be advantageous
  • Experience of delivering an HR service in an international environment advantageous
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law, including practical experience of restructurings
  • Experience of running UK compensation and benefits essential where experience of German/European and US comp and benefits would be advantageous
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry, ideally in London
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Fluent English
  • Intercultural experience
