The Great Lockdown: Lessons Learned During the Pandemic from Organizations Around the World

I struggled to get started with reading this book, now not because I didn’t want to, in fact I had asked for this book.  But I kept picking it up and putting it down, and when I reflected I think it was because working in social care whilst the pandemic was raging across the world was tough, and did I really want to be reminded of what we had all been through.

However, I am glad I did finally pick it up.  The book is great in that you can read it as a whole or read it in smaller chunks.  All the organisations have been very open, and it is a very practical book, you can take the learning and apply it to your own organisation.   Peggy from SAP describes probably what we all know that people really are the most valuable part of an organisation, the pandemic highlighted that even more.

I would recommend you read it.  The organisations that have shared their journey have done so very honestly.  They are from across the globe, in different markets with different cultures, so you get a good cross section of industry and their pandemic story, and the lessons learnt.   As an HR professional it will support you with your own strategies moving into the post pandemic world.

Definitely one I will keep in my office.
