The top eight list of such guidelines have been written below that will surely be helpful in getting acquainted with the right people for your company:

Never stop Interviewing
Always keep looking for talent even if there is no requirement in your company so that you have a line of candidates ready while you really face the real need to hire someone. You never know when can calamity hit your organisation and all of a sudden, your most important employees start quitting. Yes it won’t be easy to replace them for a while. But, at least you have backups. Thus, Proactive Interviewing plays a crucial role to surface quality candidates at times of need.

Prefer Candidates with good Communication Skills
Yes, Education is necessary but not over the right kind of skills. Whom will you hire, a person who is able to express and showcase his skills for good, or the one that has a great line of experience yet is not able to clearly justify his role? Clearly, the choice will be for the one that has been at par with his words and displays dedication into the work to be done. It is thus necessary to select the one that has set the goals upwards keeping in view the company’s growth as well.

Hire the right peg for your square hole
The candidate you hire, must not just be best at performing the job responsibilities but must also exhibit strong team playing abilities. Such a person that is helpful, cheerful and motivates the team for the betterment of the company is someone that people like to work with. You would not want a boring or eccentric person to enter your team and spoil the work environment. Also, you may do an airplane test to test this ability of the person you tend to hire. You may want that the person spends at least 3 to 4 hours with some of the other teammates and check if they enjoy his company and start to like him as part of their work environment.

Ask Typical Analytical Questions
When you finally think that this person must be hired, you must not settle with some basic questions about his life and experience. Go out of the box and kick some questions that serve a good test to check his analytical skills. Also, it will be helpful in understanding the way he tackles the situation even if he does not know the answer. Also, it will a good way to see if the candidate is flexible and open to such unconventional, out of zone situations and queries. Do not go for candidates that rather become defensive and start counter-attacking you with questions like why this question is being asked etc.

Indulge in the practice of Slow Hiring and fast firing
As a hiring manager, it is your responsibility to hire only quality candidates that will turn out to be a productive assets for the company’s growth. Do not hastily come into the action of hiring a candidate while you are not completely sure of them being the perfect fit for your company. Thus, always be bold to fire the candidates that are not working up to the mark as per the organisation’s goal. Do not waste time and resources on such candidates as it will bear no good fruits in the long run. The best way to judge a candidate is by asking other members of your team to spend some time with such a candidate and understand his mindset.

A Committed one is the perfect one
Always remember that the right guy will always be dedicated and committed to his career goal. Therefore, if a candidate comes that has the similar career agenda as your company, it may turn out to be a blessing for you. Also, it will be a great decision as the candidate will exhibit high dedication towards the company’s work as for him, it would be the only stepping stones to achieve his career goal after a few years pass. Such committed candidates are usually the ones that become a star performer in the company owing to their willingness to push their limits and work with challenges on the go.

Update your existing hiring process
Do not stick to the same old magic bullet questions, it is necessary to keep updating your hiring procedures. Switch to new online platforms where you can get access to a wide array of potential candidates all over the globe. This will be beneficial for the company as they will get to work with employees from different backgrounds. Not only this, advertise your job openings on all the relevant platforms that will source you some highly exceptional brains for your company.

Capture their First Impressions
Always be a keen observer of the actions and impression being put forward by the candidate you seem to like. It is necessary to note if the candidate behaves cordially when you make him meet new people of your organisation. Moreover, kindly ensure that his reaction is not out of confusion but is easy-going and professional. This makes the decision to hire that candidate somewhat easier as you are able to judge their impression laid over the person they interact with.

Thus, it is necessary to keep track all the activities that your may-be-right candidate shows during as well as after the interview procedure is over. It will be the only way that will aid you in hopping onto the right candidate for your company that will stick around and not just sails after a little while. Keeping in mind all these facts will benefit you in your hiring process and enhance your existing hiring procedures with the updated ones and you shall surely land upon the right list of candidates for the work of your company. These long-term dedicated employees will be a useful asset to the company and help to make it reach its new horizons.
