Ensuring that your current and future leaders are equipped with the skills and capabilities to negotiate new challenges and drive your business forward is absolutely vital to the future success of your organisation.  The key is to devise a holistic approach to leadership and talent to ensure each element of the strategy aligns with individual and organisational objectives.

On 27th September the Strategic HR Network’s Leadership and Talent Conference brings together over 150 HR Directors and Heads of Talent & Leadership to discuss strategies and tools to foster talent, develop current and future leaders and develop the people capability to meet future challenges – irrespective of what those might be.

The conference opens with keynote presentations which will cover two current key business imperatives: agility and innovation. Linda Holbeche, Visiting professor, Leaders Innovation, University of Bedford and Annemie Ress, Senior HR Director, Global People Innovation, eBay will each present what this means for HR directors and their organisations.

Linda Holbeche is one of the most respected HR thinkers in the UK. As a specialist in leadership development, she has an exceptional track record in helping organisations and individuals achieve sustainable high performance. She will open the conference with a discussion on leadership agility by defining why it is especially relevant at this time, and define approaches to the creation of agile mindsets – in self and others.

Annemie Ress has been with eBay since 2004, having joined as Human Resources Director. Her session will describe how eBay have implemented strategies that foster innovation and creativity at eBay.

The latter part of the morning features streamed sessions covering Leadership Development, Talent Management, Change & OD with case study presentations from Allianz Boots, Anglian Water, Tate & Lyle, Standard Chartered, Standard Life and Three UK. The afternoon features in depth insights and thought leadership from Santander, GE Energy, Invensys, Roffey Park, SAB Miller and YouGov covering the themes of Talent Planning, Resourcing & Future Leadership.

The closing keynote will be delivered by Norman Pickavance, until recently Group HRD of Morrisons Supermarkets who will consider the UK’s national talent deficit, framed within the context of the current economic climate, and deliver some direction for reigniting talent in your business at all levels.
