What has been your greatest HR challenge?
Unifying Siemens’ talent development programme in the US, bringing the company’s 48 different operating companies into one structure, ensuring that high performers were quickly identified and given the right level training and support.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Being told to read Leading at the Edge, a book which detailed the extraordinary journey Sir Ernest Shackleton made to the Antarctica in 1914 where he secured his heroic status in history by leading his men to safety with no lives lost after his ship, Endurance, was crushed by packed ice in the South Pole. The story gives a true lesson in leadership.
What motivates you to do your job?
I truly believe that the value of an organisation is its people, and aside from the talent I get to work with everyday, working for truly innovative and forward thinking companies such as LG keeps me motivated in my job.
Who inspires you the most?
Aside from Shackleton, who I mentioned previously, it’s the people that I work with. I’m lucky enough to have worked with some very skilled, very motivated people who have inspired me to raise my game too.
