Biography

Mark is currently Business Manager at Remploy – one of the leading providers of employment services for people with disabilities or long term health conditions. He heads up a specific business unit called Return to Work – assisting employers with a vocational rehabilitation service to get those employees who are currently on sickness absence, back to work.

Prior to this, at Remploy he was responsible for implementing an employment service with public service employers. Royal Mail is one of the major employers he worked very closely with, to implement a positive approach to recruitment of disabled people. The Remploy - Royal Mail partnership has led the way in establishing a recruitment practice that has moved from rhetoric and good words to become a practical and effective system which introduces and sustains people who face barriers to employment, into real jobs.

Prior to the last three years at Remploy, he was formerly a Director at Vision Support – a voluntary sector social enterprise providing Braille, large print and audio services to businesses. Before that held senior positions at RNIB.

Mark is a graduate of University of Wales and a postgraduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He served in HM Forces and has worked in the aerospace and defence industries before making a career move into serving the disability sector. During his career in the voluntary sector he established expertise in working with businesses to engage in their Social Responsibility agenda and ran his own consultancy service for a number of years.

He lives in North Wales with his wife Sue and two young boys James & Aled. When he does have spare time he volunteers in Scouting and fundraises with his local Round Table.
